You’ll need a yoga or exercise mat and one or two sets of dumbbells.
Using different dumbbell weights is helpful, but you can begin with whatever you have available. You’ll find a full equipment list with each workout, so you’ll always know what you need before getting started.
Bodyweight-only workouts are being added to the library soon, which are perfect for surf trips or traveling where you have minimal to no equipment available.
Yes, and they’re designed to grow with you.
Each program starts with a strong foundation and progresses over time, so whether you’re new to strength training or more experienced, you’ll be able to follow along and improve at your own pace.
All workouts are guided and modifiable, with beginner-friendly options available whenever you need them.
Most strength workouts are 30–45 minutes long, while core and mobility sessions are ~20 minutes.
With a range of workout lengths available, you can choose a session that fits into your schedule without needing hours in the gym.
If you’re just getting started, three workouts per week is a great place to begin. Aim for a balanced mix of upper-body, lower-body, and core training, and allow your body enough time to recover between sessions.
If you’re following a structured program, use the weekly schedule as your guide—but feel free to add rest days or adjust the pace based on your experience, surf schedule, and recovery needs.
Active recovery can be a great way to support your body between workouts. Gentle movement such as walking, stretching, or mobility work can promote recovery while keeping you active. Personally, I like to aim for 8,000–10,000 daily steps (~35-60 minute walk) in addition to my workouts. I'll try to get in a swim every now and then too!
Everyone’s progress looks different. You may begin to notice improvements in your strength, confidence, and exercise technique within the first few weeks, while visible changes take a bit longer.
Your results will depend on factors such as your starting point, training consistency, nutrition, recovery, and the weights you use. Focus on steady progress and how you feel and perform—not just what you see in the mirror. Consistency is key!
A good starting point is aiming for around 30–40g of protein per meal.
This helps support muscle recovery and strength development, especially when combined with consistent workouts.
You simply come back and pick up where you left off.
Life gets busy, and taking a week away doesn’t erase the progress you’ve already made. Salted Strength Club is designed to fit into your real life—not the other way around.
When you’re ready, ease back in and keep moving forward. Consistently returning is what creates lasting progress.
Not at all. While Salted Strength Club is built around surf-inspired strength training, you don’t need to be a surfer—or even near the ocean—to benefit.
These workouts are designed to improve functional strength, core stability, mobility, and overall fitness, making them just as effective for everyday life as they are for surfing.
Time in the ocean is what ultimately improves your surfing, but strength training helps you feel stronger, more controlled, and more confident every time you paddle out.
That’s exactly what these workouts are designed for. Salted Strength Club programs focus on the key demands of surfing, including paddle strength, pop-up power, core stability, balance, and endurance.
Because surfing involves repetitive movements and often favors one side of the body, balanced strength training can help prepare your body for those demands and build greater control, resilience, and endurance in the water.
Yes—especially if you’re not in the water every day.
Salted Strength Club helps you maintain strength, mobility, and endurance between surf trips, so you don’t feel like you’re starting over each time you paddle out.
